Not a bank · Not real money
KittyCash is an educational family tool. It is not a bank, credit provider, deposit-taking institution, payment system, or regulated financial product under Australian law. Balances, interest-style calculations, allowances, chores, penalties, goals, and statements shown in the app are for learning and record-keeping only. They do not represent money held by PURPLE NEXUS PTY LTD for you or your children.
Any real pocket money you pay your child is entirely between you and your family, outside the app unless you choose otherwise in your own household rules.
No responsibility for amounts or calculations
We do not guarantee that any balance, interest figure, allowance, chore payment, statement, end-of-day snapshot, or other number in KittyCash is accurate, complete, current, or suitable for your circumstances. Figures may be wrong, delayed, rounded unexpectedly, or lost due to technical issues.
You are solely responsible for verifying amounts and for any real-world payments you make. We accept no liability for reliance on in-app figures, for lost or disputed pocket money, or for disagreements between family members about money tracked in the app.
No guarantee of service — best efforts only
KittyCash is provided on a best-efforts basis. We will try to keep the Service available and working, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access, error-free operation, data preservation, or any particular level of uptime or support.
The Service may be slow, limited, changed, or discontinued at any time, with or without notice. You should keep your own records of anything important to your family.
Demo mode
Demo mode stores sample data in your browser only. It is provided "as is" for evaluation and learning. Demo data can be reset or lost when you clear storage, switch devices, or update the app. Demo mode has no connection to real accounts or real money.
Live mode and cloud services
Live mode uses cloud infrastructure and third-party cloud services for hosting, authentication, storage, and related functions. We do not control those providers and are not responsible for their outages, security incidents, or data handling beyond our reasonable choices of service. Availability and integrity in live mode depend partly on factors outside our control.
Parent and guardian responsibility
KittyCash is intended for use by parents or legal guardians who manage family accounts. You are responsible for:
- supervising your children's use of the Service;
- keeping login details, passcodes, and family codes secure;
- ensuring the app is used appropriately for your family;
- any real money arrangements you make with your children;
- complying with applicable law.
Privacy and storage
We collect and use personal information as described in our Privacy Policy, including account details, family records you enter, and essential browser storage. Live mode may involve cloud storage and, with your consent where offered, optional usage analytics. We do not sell personal information.
Your data — taken seriously, with broad rights for us to operate and improve
We are committed to protecting personal information under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles, use reasonable security measures, and will notify you and the regulator of an eligible data breach where the law requires. You keep ownership of the content you enter; you grant us a licence to host and process it to run the Service, and you agree we may create and use de-identified and aggregated data for any lawful purpose — including analytics, research, and improving our products — indefinitely. Limitation of liability (summary)
To the maximum extent permitted by the Australian Consumer Law and other applicable law, PURPLE NEXUS PTY LTD is not liable for any loss or damage arising from use of KittyCash, including indirect, incidental, or consequential loss, loss of data, service interruptions, or reliance on in-app figures. Where liability cannot be excluded but can be limited, it is limited (at our option) to resupplying the Service or, for a free Service, to AUD $100. Claims must be brought within 12 months.
Nothing in these notices excludes consumer guarantees or other rights that cannot be excluded under Australian law. Full details, including the data licence, indemnity, assumption of risk, and termination, are in our Terms & Conditions.
Changes
We may update our legal documents from time to time. Check the "Last updated" date on each page. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated terms.
